IBCSD is looking for a Part-time Consultant for GRASP 2030 signatories engagement. The consultant  is expected to support IBCSD in providing assistance to bring the best value of GRASP 2030 signatories’ actions and to build collaboration and engagement associated with the mobilisation of the GRASP 2030. The role will be starting as soon as possible and ending on September 2022.

About GRASP 2030

The GRASP 2030 (Gotong Royong Atasi Susut & Limbah Pangan di Tahun 2030) is a Voluntary Agreement (VA), that will bring a collaborative commitment and action to support the global goal of halving food loss and waste by in 2030, thus increasing the environmental, social, and economic benefits for the participating organizations and for Indonesia.

The Voluntary Agreement model will deliver the GRASP 2030 goals through representative governance with evidence-based work program, progress-focused approach, and commitment to work fairly in pre-competitive business environment. It has been adopted and successful in many countries, such as UK, USA, Mexico, South Africa, and Australia.

Currently, GRASP 2030 has 14 signatories, including 6 core Signatories (business who are passionate to reduce the FLW) and 8 Associate signatories (supporting actors to achieve the goals).


Required Skills and Experience

  • Have a broad of experience in the food sector and sustainability, preferably in food loss and waste reduction and food surplus donation.
  • Can demonstrate a good understanding of the Indonesia food system. Direct experience of working with Indonesia food system/food industry is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstration of collaborative working.
  • Can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to ensure greatest impact.
  • Can demonstrate ability to deliver in accordance with commercial law and confidentiality.
  • Can demonstrate analytical assessment of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Excellent English proficiency

Role and Responsibility (Scope of Work)

The technical expert will be responsible for technical input and delivery of the following GRASP 2030 activities:

  • Shape the delivery of support for signatories that will enable them to develop and implement their action plan to reduce food waste and effectively manage surplus within operations and supply chain.
  • Lead signatory engagement on applying food loss and waste best practices including:
    • Manage and respond to signatory enquiries.
    • Provide one to one technical support to signatories (i.e. overcoming specific challenges or identifying where improvements could be made). This include time on-site with a signatory to enable further reductions (i.e. improving measurement or identifying food waste hotspots).
    • Utilize and analyze signatory food waste data to identify and prioritise actions that will have the greatest impact in reducing food waste and maximising food donation.
    • Support signatories to improve food waste measurement and reporting.
    • Develop food waste reduction and surplus management plans with signatories, regularly tracking and reviewing progress.
  • Shape and lead the facilitation of the collaborative working group.
  • Provide technical input and signatory updates in development of case study content to demonstrate GRASP 2030 progress and signatory value.
  • Provide technical input into regular signatory updates – webinars and newsletters.

The consultant will have a minimum of 8 days of work in a month with a total number of days budgeted (approximately until September 2022).  This will allow flexibility to manage needs and timings of outputs.

The role will be fixed term contract starting as soon as possible and ending 30 November 2022.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engaging with companies on deforestation in Indonesian palm oil supply chains (through phone calls, one-to-one meetings, presentations and workshops);

Requirements:

  • Expertise in the drivers of deforestation in palm oil supply chains, and key geographies, particularly Indonesia;

  • Confidence in interacting and presenting to company executives;

Project Officer, Indonesia

Candidates should have a passion for the environment and feel comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders including investors, insurers, banks and integrated financial institutions to help meet the project targets.

The project officer will work remotely from Indonesia with colleagues in Hong Kong and in the UK. It is expected that some local travel will be needed in future as pandemic conditions ease. Key responsibilities

  • Support the investor account manager to build and maintain relationships with key financial institutions in Indonesia to disclose through CDP’s Financial Services questionnaire.

1. Recruitment: TFA Multimedia Content Maker

Objectives:

The overall objective of this consultancy is to produce media material including a short video and high-resolution photographs that can be used in various communications platforms. 

Methodology

Consultant selected for this assignment will perform the following indicative tasks:

  • Develop the video concept and scenario to be discussed with TFA team;
  • Present a work plan for the assigned work specifying logistic needs;
  • Perform appropriate short interviews with the Projects’ major partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders;
  • Work on the desired products for this consultancy, including high resolution photographs and videos.

Deliverables

The consultant will produce a database with at least forty-five (45) high resolution photographs and one (1) short video.

  • One short video in HD
  1. Video shooting and editing;
  2. Narration, translation and subtitles in English/Portuguese where necessary;
  3. Script development;
  4. Full usage rights for music (or music for which copyright has been granted);
  5. One fully-produced clip of approximately 5 minutes in length in 1080p (HD) resolution aimed at sharing with national audience including government institutions, CSOs, local stakeholders, local communities as well as an international audience.

The video must showcase success stories and lessons learnt related to forest ecosystem for the future.

Consultant for Tropical Forest Alliance Southeast Asia

“”BACKGROUND

The Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA) is a global multi stakeholder platform focused on reducing commodity driven deforestation. Hosted by the World Economic Forum, the TFA works with over 160 public, private and civil society actors to catalyze high-impact partnerships to address the inherent tensions that exist to grow production while protecting the forests – public and private, producer and market, global and local, people and the forest frontier.  The TFA operates regional platforms in Latin America, West and Central Africa, China and Southeast Asia. The work under this consultancy will be performed in collaboration with the Southeast Asia platform.  

SERVICES PROVIDED

The consultant will work closely with TFA Southeast Asia Team and its members and partners (Government of Indonesia, business sectors and civil societies) and will undertake the following tasks:

  • Consult with TFA SA in the process of developing the concept note and draft of proposal.  
  • Develop proposals that indicated an overview of the study includes: background, methodological framework, objectives, indicative timelines & deliverable and budget.
  • Participate in the meetings/dialogue that TFA convened with its stakeholders to identify topics/issues to be covered for business case/policy briefs
  • Review existing documents covering studies, reports, regulations, rules and other documents, related to respected theme: responsible business, indigenous communities, green investments, smallholders, policy and governance systems in Indonesia and Malaysia.
  • Write a report on the review of the implementation of two decades of fiscal decentralization in Indonesia, including providing concrete policy recommendations on improving fiscal decentralization and local government finance in Indonesia
  • Present the findings from the business cases/policy briefs to the stakeholders should that be requested by the TFA Southeast Asia team.

DELIVERABLES

  • Identifying one thematic area of interest and provide TFA SA with : 1) Draft of Terms of Reference (ToR)— outlining: context/background, objective, methodology, scope of works, timeline and deliverables —- and 2) Draft proposal of work plan.
  • Draft of business case/policy briefs and other required documents
  • Final business cases/policy briefs and other required documents
  • All deliverables must be prepared in reporting format that must be agreed by TFA SA team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive working experience and knowledge in the issues  of responsible business, green investment, policy and governance, communication, indigenous community, smallholders and communication and youth engagement.
  • Strong background in Public policy in Indonesia and have extensive experiences working with Government of Indonesia with Coordinating Ministry and Technical Ministry. 
  • Strong analytical, reporting and writing abilities
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia both written and oral. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree from nationally/internationally recognized university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Governance or Social Science field. 
  • At least 10 years’ experience of working in the sectors of green investment, supply chain systems and actively engage with private sectors (brands, growers, traders) and community’s engagements (in indigenous communities, youth engagement, smallholders).
  • At least 10 years’ experience of undertaking policy studies and write business cases on the issues highlighted in the areas of responsible business, green investment, policy and governance, indigenous community, communication & galvanizing youth and smallholders.
  • Prior work experience with Government of Indonesia in the national level, particularly with Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), National Development Planning Agency, Coordinating Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture.
  • Work experience in development agency and research institution.

Educational Media and Design Consultant

The Conflict Resolution Unit of the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development in cooperation with the LEOPALD project of GIZ is currently developing a series of educational materials (a toolkit) for stakeholders in oil palm plantations. These materials are expected to support initiatives to develop equitable partnerships between farmers and corporations and/or resolving conflicts among them.

 

Key stakeholders have been identified as a segmented audience, namely plantation corporations, communities, local governments, NGOs working with those communities, and mediators who might mediate conflicts in the plantation sector. For each of these specific learning materials will be developed. It is expected that these learning materials will support the efforts to build sustainable and fair partnerships and conflict resolution processes.

 

To support this initiative, CRU is seeking an expert in learning materials development to bring his/her perspectives and insights to the efforts as a consultant.

 

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

 

Ensure that the materials produced are educationally appropriate to each audience segment both in design and content.

 

Tasks

 

  • Advice authors and or content specialists in developing the text/content for the learning materials

 

  • Assist in the sequencing and presentation of the educational content in the appropriate format to facilitate optimal learning.

 

  • Prepare appropriate format for the presentation or design for the materials.

3.     Duties and Responsibilities

The Lead is expected to build and strengthen TFA’s relationships with relevant private sector actors in the region, including producers, traders, manufacturers, and retailers (in particular, members of the Consumer Goods Forum), financial institutions, as well as industry groups and trade associations with the objective of driving engagement with the TFA platform and catalyzing collective action to tackle commodity-driven deforestation.   • Mobilizing a deeply-engaged coalition of private sector actors in the region
  • Strategic engagement with IBCSD/KADIN to strengthen TFA as a platform

  • Contributing to TFA programming for events in the region
  • Representing TFA at relevant external events and meetings
  • Providing vision and leadership to the TFA team in Southeast Asia, ensuring effective interactions with the extended TFA team and consistent communications with partners in the region
  • Overseeing and ensuring the success of the TFA platform’s jurisdictional dialogues
  • Responsible for a sensible execution of the Southeast Asia budget

 

4.     Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a relevant organization
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with private sector to mobilize targeted action
  • Experience with building coalitions or partnerships and driving pre-competitive collaboration
  • Ability to gain the trust of the TFA partners and other stakeholders in the region
  • Experience with corporate strategy and leading project-based teams through strategy planning, analysis, design and implementation
  • A holistic, deep understanding of the deforestation-free agenda, commodity production, and its links to the broader climate change agenda
  • Established network among key individuals and organizations associated with action around the environment, tropical forests, commodities and public-private sector initiatives in Indonesia
  • The ability to build a workplace culture that can embrace and execute change to meet organizational objectives
  • High standards of professionalism and integrity, actively promoting ethics and compliance within the team
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of partners from different backgrounds
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
