Welcoming PT HERO SUPERMARKET TBK

In 2017, HERO achieved the Most Values Brand award. HERO also held a certification from The 9th IICD Corporate Governance Conference and Award as the Top 50 Mid Market Capitalization Public Listed Companies, and also The Best Non Financial Company. Another award that HERO got in 2017 is the Asia’s Best Company 2017 from Finance Asia. In the sustainability area, HERO held a platinum trophy at the 9th Annual Summit and Conference: CSR Leadership Award.

HERO is very concerned about their CSR program. HERO has a program named “HERO CARING” which includes many projects that was designed as a responsibility for the society, focusing on education, community health, economic empowerment, environmental awareness, Donation and humanitarian aid. HERO realizes that sustainability is not just about CSR. Therefor, together with IBCSD, HERO now has an aim to reach a better knowledge about sustainability, and also improving their programs.

Presenting is speaker is the Head of Research and Development Center for Green and Environmental Industry, Ministry of Industry which gave a really comprehensive explanation on Green Industry Development Standards in Indonesia. The discussion runs very smooth and warm. One of the newest members of IBCSD, PT L’Oreal Indonesia, has also been present as a speaker talking about Private Sector Efforts in Generating Green Products through Sustainable Sourcing. Looking at the success of the FGD, the series will be followed by the next discussion in the future.”

 

Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 Smallholder Task Force Meeting

To overcome the issue, Smallholder Task Force was established in May 2016, as a platform to discuss and support the innovative implementation to improve the productivity and livelihood while in the same time is protecting the environment. Beside enhance scale of investments in sustainable commodity production across entire supply chains in Indonesia with the aim to greatly reduce deforestation from palm oil and paper and pulp production. The Task Force Meeting attended by 24 Participants from companies, NGOs and grant institution in Jakarta at 14th December 2017 to discuss about:

  •  Stock-take Partners’ ongoing programs and analyze possible synergies among programs and landscapes and collaboration work at pilot Jurisdiction provinces.

  • Share relevant projects they are working on around the issue of alternative financing solution and access to market:

  • Statement of “Reactivation of Smallholder Taskforce”

  • Smallholder meeting will be held in rotation and hosted by members partners every 2 months

Validation Workshop untuk Occupation Map di sektor Otomotif

Therefore, IBCSD together with ILO is developing occupation map on automotive industry.

 

On 14 December in Jakarta, IBCSD and ILO held a validation workshop for the occupation map inviting key stakeholders from the industry, trade union, government, and business association.

 

The inputs, comments and recommendations coming from the different focal persons invited in the seminar, enable the technical team to revise and finalize the research that is expected to be completed by January 2018.

Each contender completed a comprehensive interview, questionnaire and was scored against their corporate sustainability vision, and their environmental and social management strategies.
