Five key outcomes to reverse nature loss by 2030 include: emergency declaration for the planet, ambitious post-2020 framework, renewed environmental targes ; increased ambition and nature-based solutions and governance of the hight seas treaty. Protecting nature is essential for all our futures and this why IBCSD is a partner of Business for Nature in Indonesia. The widespread social and economic disruption caused by Covid-19 has shown us how vulnerable our business and societies truly are. Businesses have a key role to play in reversing nature loss. Some have already taken action, and we will continue to encourage businesses to do all they can to protect nature.
Launched on May 22, 2024, the Indonesia Business & Biodiversity Platform (IBBP) is a high-impact coalition led by IBCSD—bringing together business, government, and conservation leaders to tackle Indonesia’s accelerating biodiversity loss in one of the world’s richest ecosystems. IBBP offers a strategic forum for companies to influence policy, scale biodiversity-positive innovation, and embed nature into ESG reporting in line with national strategies (IBSAP) and The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). Through hands-on workshops, multi-stakeholder dialogues, and peer learning, members co-develop action plans, monitoring tools, and capacity-building programs to drive measurable conservation impact. As part of this select community of forward-thinking companies, through IBBP you’ll gain direct access to government bodies like KLH and BAPPENAS, enhance your corporate reputation with TNFD-aligned transparency, and open doors to green investments. By joining IBBP, your business can transform biodiversity stewardship into competitive advantage—shaping policy, building resilience, and ensuring sustainable growth for Indonesia and the planet.
Indonesia’s biodiversity is a national asset—and a business imperative. As a megadiverse country, Indonesia’s ecosystems underpin food security, water availability, climate resilience, and long-term economic stability. Yet, rapid development and climate change are putting this natural wealth at risk. Businesses have a vital role in reversing biodiversity loss while securing their own sustainability. The Indonesia Business & Biodiversity Platform (IBBP) was launched in May 2024 with the support of KLHK and Bappenas to foster public-private collaboration on biodiversity. Coordinated by the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD), IBBP connects companies, government, and stakeholders to drive nature-positive business action. Together let’s protect, restore and sustainably use our natural resources.
