Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU)

The Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU) is established to provide services to support the mediation of land use and natural resource management conflict. The Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU) works to increase public confidence that mediation is an effective alternative for resolving land use and natural resource management conflicts in Indonesia. Although CRU does not mediate conflicts themselves, CRU provides a range of support services for mediation processes to ensure the application of best practices.

Services include initial assessment, support for facilitation and mediation, and the monitoring and implementation of stakeholder agreements. CRU has also developed a National Register of Assessors and Mediators, sponsors training and workshop events, and supports research and analysis to improve understanding about land use and natural resource management conflicts in Indonesia.
