SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION FGD

In an effort to support the achievement of SDG Goals No. 12 – Sustainable Consumption and Production, IBCSD intends to hold meetings with various private sectors to encourage sustainable consumption and production patterns through discussion forums as programs that encourage Green Lifestyle.

Regardless of the SDGs, investors as well as markets are also beginning to change towards green development. This is evidenced by the existence of several sustainable financial principles such as Equatorial Principles and Principles for Responsible Investment. On the market side, the survey results of WWF-Indonesia and Nielsen survey in 2017 showed as many as 63% of Indonesian consumers are willing to consume eco-friendly products at a higher price. This shows a significant increase in consumer awareness of the consumption of environmentally friendly products and indicates the readiness of the domestic market to absorb sustainably produced products.
Consumer readiness is certainly to be balanced with the availability of friendly products environment or even that meet the principles of sustainability that is not only environmentally friendly but also meet the social aspects. It should also be seen as an opportunity for the business sector to be able to apply the principles of sustainability business.
