IUCN RHINO in Indonesia: Advancing Corporate Nature Positive Action

Join IUCN and IBCSD to launch a new initiative exploring how the IUCN RHINO Approach can help companies and other stakeholders reduce species extinction and contribute to Indonesian and global biodiversity goals.

This high level invitation-only event is the launch of a new initiative to unlock corporate Nature Positive action to reduce species extinction in Indonesia. Taking part on Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2026, the event launches a 3-year project, led by IUCN and IBCSD, to enable corporates and other sectors to apply the IUCN Rapid High-integrity Nature Positive Outcomes (IUCN RHINO) Approach. The project will be implemented within the KIRANAS framework, which supports the translation of Indonesia’s biodiversity ambitions into actionable pathways for business, helping companies reduce species extinction risks and contribute to Indonesia’s Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP) and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).

Target Audience: High-level company representatives and other senior decision-makers.

Workshop Objectives:

• understand the principles, requirements and implementation process of the RHINO approach and STAR metric using IBAT;
• recognise how RHINO can support Indonesia’s biodiversity policy landscape, identify opportunities to reduce species extinction risk and in turn contribute to the IBSAP;
• identify priority opportunities and barriers for implementation in Indonesia;
• establish connections across sectors to support future collaboration;
• contribute recommendations that will inform the design of subsequent RHINO workshops and pilot activities.
