SUMMARY:14th THOUGHT LEADER FORUM
DESCRIPTION:Studies indicate that Indonesia may be the second-biggest contributor to marine plastic debris worldwide, with an estimated 1.3 million tons annually originating from the archipelago. In 2015, research by Jenna Jamback found that 3.2 million tons of plastic waste polluted Indonesian waters in 2010, making Indonesia the biggest source of plastic marine waste in Southeast Asia and second biggest in the world after China. These facts are become a big challenges for us in how to address the marine debris problem in Indonesia and how to tackle it.\nIBCSD is supporting The Nature Conservancy?as the conservation organization working around the world to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends, to conduct the 14th Thought Leaders Forum with theme Applying Integrated Landscape Management in Combatting Marine Debris for Sustainable Community Enhancement. We hope that the participation of business sector will give broader knowledge and information about waste-to-energy practice that will lead to a more concrete and sustainable approach to waste management and marine.\n
