DESCRIPTION:The Indonesian government is intensely aware of the problem of plastic waste and is striving to address it through a variety of policies, one of which is the issuance of Presidential Regulation (PERPRES) No. 83 of 2018 on Handling Marine Waste. The government has committed to reducing sources and recycling by 30% by 2025, which is expected to contribute to a 70% reduction in marine plastics and other marine debris by 2025.
